Abstract

This animated comic series shows the experience of a young queer girl in a predominantly heteronormative Indian society where any alternate sexual or romantic preference is nor available or represented in media. Children find it difficult to come to terms with their sexualities that do not fit into these heteronormative expectations. It also highlights the importance of media in their secondary socialization and to understand and allow them to come to terms with their sexual identities and how important it is for mainstream Indian media to normalize the presence of LGBTQ+ community in India.
