AbstractInjudicious selection of Government Polytechnics for construction of buildings for women’s hostels without need analysis resulted in idle infrastructure and wastage of resources. The expenditure of ₹ 5.65 crore incurred on eight hostel buildings remained unfruitful. Another two buildings constructed at a cost of ₹ 1.78 crore were being used for other purposes defeating the objective of the scheme.
